GPS Speedometer Not Working? Fix It
If a GPS speedometer will not start, stays at zero, or stops updating, work through these checks in order. Most problems come from site permission, device location settings, weak satellite signal, battery restrictions, or an unsupported browser.
1. Allow location for the website
Press Start and accept the browser location prompt. If you previously blocked it, open the site information or browser settings, set Location to Allow, reload the page, and press Start again.
2. Turn on precise device location
Enable Location Services on iPhone or Location on Android. Allow precise location for the browser when that option is available; an approximate position may be too coarse for a useful live speed reading.
3. Move where GPS can see the sky
Try outdoors or beside an unobstructed window. Tunnels, underground stations, metal roofs, coated glass, tall buildings, and indoor rooms can delay or block a GPS fix.
4. Check battery and browser restrictions
Turn off aggressive battery saving for the browser, keep the page visible, and avoid locking the screen during a test. Update the browser or try Safari on iPhone and a current Chrome-based browser on Android.
5. Reset and test safely
Reload the page, reset the trip, wait for the accuracy indicator to settle, then test while you are a passenger or in another safe setting. Do not troubleshoot a phone while driving or rely on zigmaty as a legal, safety, navigation, or emergency instrument.

Common questions
Short answers for this guide.
Why does the speedometer say location permission was denied?
The browser has blocked location for the site. Change the site permission to Allow, reload, and press Start again.
Why does GPS stay at zero while I am moving?
The device may not have a fresh GPS fix, the signal may be blocked, or updates may be restricted by battery saving.
Why does it work outdoors but not indoors?
Satellite signals are much easier to receive with a clear view of the sky. Walls, roofs, and coated windows can weaken them.
Does a GPS speedometer need internet?
The speed reading comes from device location, but loading the page, permission behavior, and some browser services can still depend on connectivity.
Can zigmaty repair my phone GPS?
No. zigmaty can display the location data supplied by the browser, but it cannot repair hardware or create a missing satellite signal.
